Hello! My name is Kara Peterson and this is my first year as a bilingual teacher at Santiago. I grew up in Libertyville, a northern suburb of Chicago. I graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison with my Bachelor's in Spanish. While studying at Madison, I was able to live in Sevilla, Spain for six months. It really helped me learn the language and the culture. I went on to get my Masters in Teaching Elementary Education from National-Louis. This is my sixth year teaching. I spent the last four years teaching in a dual language program in Gurnee. I love to travel, cook, read and spend time with friends and family. I look forward to getting to know the students and families at Santiago!
