Congratulations to Zizumbo students for once again earning top rankings at the state championships for the "Odyssey of the Mind" problem solving competition, which encourages students to be creative, expand their critical thinking skills and work as a team.

Two teams of students represented Zizumbo. The Technical team had to design and build three "emojis" that performed certain tasks and helped tell a story. They and placed first in their age level and problem. Technical Team members are: Angelica Ontiveros - 6^th; Aylin Zamora - 6^th; Ernesto Lopez - 6^th; Moises Rodriguez - 7^th; Sakkiyah Brown - 6^th; Sam Rojas - 7^th; and Sebastian Ortiz- 6^th. 

The Balsa team had to design and build a structure out of balsa wood and placed second in their age level and problem. The Balsa Team consists of Aileen Anaya - 6^th; Alonso Espino - 6^th; Daniel Roman - 6^th; Leila Ortiz - 7^th; Natalie Nieto - 6^th; and Sofia Ortega - 8^th.

Zizumbo teams have won first or second place in their division in each of the four years they have participated in the state competition. The teams are coached by teachers Pearce Dowden and Kathryn Schoedel.

Felicitaciones a los alumnos de la Primaria Zizumbo por nuevamente quedar entre los primeros lugares de los campeonatos estatales de Odisea de la Mente, una competencia que anima a los estudiantes a ser creativos, expandir sus habilidades de pensamiento crítico y trabajar en equipo.

 Los equipos de Zizumbo han ganado el primer o segundo lugar en su división en cada uno de los cuatro años que han participado en la competencia estatal. Los equipos son dirigidos por los maestros Pearce Dowden y Kathryn Schoedel.
