Dear Acero Community,
Tomorrow (October 4), beginning around 1:20 p.m. CT, there will be a half-hour window where the federal government will test a nationwide emergency broadcasting alert system. The message will be broadcast to all cell phones, televisions and radios.
The test is required to ensure the reliability of the Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (IPAWS) at least once every three years. The last national test was in 2021.
You should only receive the message once. The alert will include a message similar to: “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”

Estimada comunidad de Acero,
Mañana (4 de octubre), comenzando alrededor de la 1:20 p.m. CT, habrá una ventana de media hora donde el gobierno federal probará un sistema de alerta de transmisión de emergencia a nivel nacional. El mensaje será transmitido a todos los teléfonos celulares, televisiones y radios.
La prueba es necesaria para garantizar la fiabilidad al menos una vez cada tres años del Sistema Integrado de Alerta y Advertencia Pública (IPAWS). La última prueba nacional se realizó en el 2021.
Sólo debe recibir el mensaje una vez. La alerta incluirá un mensaje similar a: "ESTA ES UNA PRUEBA del Sistema Nacional Wireless de Alerta de Emergencia. No es necesaria ninguna acción".
